New Leaf: A Sustainable Living Collaborative goes above and beyond when it comes to stewardship in their home community. All year-round, students participate in opportunities with the John Muir Historic Site, local schools, and environmental non-profit organizations.
Students collaboratively painted a mural along one of the borders of John Muir Historic Site that incorporated different periods in Muir's life, including his travels in Yosemite.
Students also participate in a variety of internships through the John Muir Historic Site, including helping National Park Service scientists with their phenology studies.
Read more about their phenology work on the NPS website!
New Leaf students learn about sustainable manipulation of the environment through a permaculture field trip.
